What is to be done?
Following on from developing the Brexit Impact Assessment model, AutoAnalysis has undertaken detailed analysis of the options for trade policy open to the UK post-Brexit and the impact of policy choices on the auto industry. We have worked for industry bodies, car companies and suppliers in this area, assessing the different impacts of tariffs, quotas, non-tariff barriers and changes in the regulatory environment on the sector as a whole and for individual companies. This work includes analysis of trade policy in other parts of the world, including ASEAN, USMCA (NAFTA), Mercosur and South Africa, as a guide to potential policy development for the UK post-Brexit. We understand the various tax policies, incentives, regulatory options and other fiscal and non-fiscal policies which have adopted to help the vehicle manufacturing sector across the globe.
